Keep your Stats

One way to pinpoint the weakest areas of your game is to keep a list of your statistics during every round. Tally each fairway and green you hit in regulation, what clubs you used, the number of putts you make and every up-and-down and sand save.

When you analyze your data after the round, keep in mind that on most courses, a perfect regulation round consists of 14 fairways, 18 greens and 36 putts. If the number of greens hit is less than 18 and your putt total is more than 36, you know its time to work on the short game. Also, keeping stats can alert you to minor problems or unconscious alterations in your swing before they turn into a full-blown slump.
